15 Must Have Pinterest-Like WordPress Themes

Must Have Pinterest-Like WordPress Themes

Pinterest is still a popular social network that allows you to save websites and images as Pins, which are then displayed in Boards that you can name and customize. This is really great for saving visual items for inspiration. Whether you’re planning a wedding or a home remodel, Pinterest can serve you well.

Since the board style is engaging, capturing some of this Pinterest magic for your own site might be preferable. Thankfully, there are several Pinterest-like WordPress themes out there that mimic the look and feel of this card style.

Pinterest-like themes capture the essence of Pinterest – a masonry style grid portfolio or blog where posts include a thumbnail of the featured image and a short blurb from the article. Below are a collection of themes that are Pinterest-like in their style, as well as all of WordPress’s fantastic and easy to use features. Check them out!

    Hi everyone

Pinterest have an external link on each block – None of the WP Pinterest like themes have this important feature ?

    • AJ Clarke | WPExplorer

You could easily add that to any theme via a custom field. Also some of them do via the link post format.

  4. Susanth Wangre

Thanks for the list..I think you have missed another grid theme “Themelio”. I have used this theme in my friend’s website. Its awesome:)

    • Kyla

  12. Ravi

which of these can be used for e-commerce..except for few most of them look like blogging templates..am I getting it wrong..very impressive collection, though!!

    • Kyla

Hi Ravi – I think Pinshop is the only one listed that includes built-in e-commerce support. Some of the themes might support WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, Exchange or another free e-commerce plugin, but I can’t say for sure. The post just lists some of the nice pinterest-style theme options out there (which was mostly blogging themes at the time). But I’ll keep an eye out for some nice pinterest-stype shop themes 🙂

  13. Christopher Tinypants Dang

Great list of free themes. Thank you for your hard work hunting these down. You’re a lifesaver!

  14. Charlie Allred

I’m curious, in any of these themes can you add a right column for lead capture, etc?

    • AJ Clarke

The only one I know about is “Fashionista” because I made it, and yes you can choose to enable a sidebar for the main homepage via the theme options.

  15. Brian

Unfortunately, you don’t address whether any of these themes permit users to upload, which is really the main feature of Pinterest. I don’t want something where only I can add content.

    • AJ Clarke

      Hi Brian,

Themes should never have a user upload system built-in, this is something that should be added via a plugin. For example Gravity Forms has an extension that allows a front end form to create a draft post. That’s just one example but I’m sure there are many others out there 😉 Or you can pay to have a custom one built of course.

  16. Cheenu Lott

Hi Great work on the post. Very nice themes cant wait to try some of them.. Must have taken a lot of hark work to compile the data for the post. You seriously saved a lot of time for many people like me. Thanks for featuring. Cheers!!!
