10 Awesome jQuery Enhanced WordPress Themes

A couple weeks ago I wrote up a post on how to add Javascript/jQuery to your WordPress themes the correct way and that got me thinking about some really awesome WordPress themes powered by jQuery. Sure many themes out there have drop-down navigation and image sliders, but the themes below take jQuery to the next level to provide you with a very unique WordPress theme that not only looks great but is fun to use.
1. Business Card
The Business Card WordPress theme created by Elegant Themes is a jQuery powered theme ideal for mini portfolio and resume sites. It sets up your site in “tabs” so each page opens without having to reload your page and with a nice animation effect. The links themselves also have a nice animation effect on hover and the portfolio section will allow you to scroll left and right through the items as well as open the image in lightbox.
2. Creative Zodiac
Creative Zodiac is one of my favorite Premium WordPress Themes of all time. Not only does this theme come with a beautiful design but it’s fully jQuery powered so you can browse every section of the site without ever having to reload the site. A splash screen will allow your visitors to choose the section they want to start browsing. From here on users can browse through your pages in a horizontal scrolling manner. The portfolio section is amazing and it has been enhanced with jQuery to the max, including awesome shine hover overs, browsing arrows, pop-out images and a rotating image section.
3. Auzora
Auzora is a bit similar to the Creative Zodiac theme in the way that it works with a jQuery powered navigation but when you browse through the pages they will fly up and down from the top. The portfolio of Auzora is freaking awesome…portfolio items “fly in” as they load, they is a beautiful opacity animation on hover and you can open your images in a built-in lightbox.
4. MyResume
The My Resume WordPress Theme has been a popular business card theme for a long time now. The theme provides you with an easy and elegant way to set up a personal portfolio and resume site where you can show people what you are all about. The theme has a nice javascript animation when you scroll through pages which makes it look like they fold down.
5. ViewFinder Photography
The Viewfinder theme is the latest theme by Orman Clark and its perfect for photography and portfolio sites. The template features a full-width homepage design with a built-in scroll bar so visitors can browse through your awesome work. ViewFinder also has an awesome jQuery filterable portfolio which will let you have unlimited portfolio categories and users can sort through them without leaving your portfolio page.
6. WordPress Hud
WordPress Hud is an advanced portfolio and product showcase theme that lets you choose the exact colors, patters and backgrounds for the site. Its enhanced with some great javascript enhancements such as tooltips, a “fly-in” search bar, a slideout menu, toggle sidebar items and more.
7. Stealth
Stealth is a premium theme that comes in 2 flavors (light and dark) and has also been enhanced with some cool jQuery features such as a retractable menu, footer widgets that open on command, accordion style widgets, tooltips and a sweet full width slider.
8. Photo Nexus
Photo Nexus is a premium theme created with photographers in mind. The cool jQuery feature in this theme is a custom image slider with thumbnails support. With Photo nexus you can set up multiple images for each category and users can browse through them using the next and previous arrows or by clicking on the smaller thumbs.
9. Slick VCard Theme
The Super Slick Vcard is a really awesome single-page WordPress theme that comes in 7 different flavors and is perfect for portfolio and resume sites. Besides being able to browse the site without loading the pages I also really like the javascript integration in the portfolio page. The portfolio scrolls left and right (automatically or manually) between your items and you can also open them in the built-in prettyPhoto lightbox.
10. Locus
Locus has been around for a while now but is still a great portfolio WordPress theme. The theme has a single-page design that scrolls downwards when you click on the navigation items and comes with a powerful portfolio section. The portfolio has a nice animated filter so users can browse through the various categories, titles pop-up on hover and it has a custom lightbox integration.
