Last updated on:
Best Appointment Booking WordPress Plugins for Scheduling & Reservations

If your business relies on appointments, you have a WordPress site and you haven’t installed a booking plugin yet, you need to get on that. Specifically one of these appointment booking WordPress plugins.

There’s no reason for so many businesses to still force their customers to call them on the phone, contact them by email and wait for a response, or worst of all, physically come into their offices to schedule an appointment. Implementing an easy-to-use booking plugin can lead to increased sales from people who work during most of your hours, or who don’t feel like going through hold times and waiting for a receptionist to book via phone. And it can lead to more appointments being made on impulse, especially since you can hit them with the option to book immediately after your web copy has (hopefully) done its job.

Thankfully, WordPress offers a ton of options for completing this task.

We’ve covered booking plugins before, but only as they relate to the hotels niche. Today, we’re covering 15+ more, and expanding our view to include appointment booking WordPress plugins intended for scheduling just about anything!

Tom, I am developing a website for language tutoring with both tutors and students in different countries. Do you know if Appointments+ will allow my different service providers (tutors) to see their individual calendars in their own time zone and set their own hours of availability? Of course I would want the students to see these calendars in their own time zone too.

    Thanks,
    Janine

    • Tom Ewer

      Hey Janine,

I’m afraid I don’t, sorry! My suggestion would be that you reach out to the plugin developer directly 🙂

      Cheers,

      Tom

  2. Mark Ketzler

Great sharing, Tom ! I have heard of this plugin for the first time and it really proves to be very helpful and time saver.

    • Tom Ewer

      My pleasure Mark!

  3. BizzThemes.com

Tom, consider adding our WooCommerce Appointments – bizzthemes.com/plugins/woocommerce-appointments/ plugin to the list. It’s just been released and works much better than listed plugins, so your visitors would benefit a lot from it.

  4. Sunil

    Hey Tom,

Thanks for your wonderful. I will appreciate if you can add plugins like Appointment Buddy.
I have used it, so I recommend it for others.

    Sunil.

  5. Ann Kelly

witch of these are plug ins for WordPress.com?

    • Kyla

I think you have to have a premium “Business Plan” to use plugins on WordPress.com – which is why on our blog we always recommend WordPress.org. It’s affordable, offers waaaaaay more options/features and is just plain better 🙂 (in our opinion of course)

  6. yogendra

    Hi,
very interesting and complete post, just to add another suggestion to the list of booking plugins there is also Bookme Pro supports a wide range of services provided by businesses, individuals (like institute, clinic, spas, and more) who offer reservations through websites.

  7. Aaron

Hey, that’s a very nicely curated list of plugins.

In my opinion, BMA – WordPress Appointment Booking Plugin for Enterprise also worth consideration. It’s accurate, efficient, and packs many features at a very reasonable price. To name some features it includes email/SMS notification, sync with google calendar, separate templates for web, mobile, and tablet devices, multiple payment gateways, and many more with great customer support.

They also have a lite version, so you can also try that as well. It goes by the name BMA Lite.

It would be great if you can consider it for adding to this list.

  8. Tammy Stumb

Cool collection of appointment plugins. Thanks for posting.

  9. Andy Globe

Is there a plugin that allows you to reserve seats for cooworking (on a local level)?

    • Kyla

Good question – I’m pretty sure Amelia would be your best bet (just double check with the plugin authors to be 100% sure). But as an alternative, I know that Modern Events calendar just launched a “seats” add-on that allows you to sell specific seats in a venue, but I’m not sure if it would allow for time slots (I think you would have to do daily rates). Just an idea!

  10. Ines Bažon

    Hello,

I am looking to change booking app. Now I have Booknetic, but I can not set whai I need.

    I have 2 staff, 1 location.

Staff 1 does: massage, coach and pedicure.

Staff 2 does: massage and manicure.

So, when massage is booked, it has to block all avaible slots of Both staff.

When pedicure is booked it can show avaible slots for manicure od staff 2, but not massage.

    What do you advice?

    Thank you very much,

    Ines

    • Kyla

I think that’s be possible with Booknetic. You would need to be sure to add/organize your staff according to the business services they perform, then customize your booking form with the form builder so that a customer is first presented with the option to select a service, followed by time slots by staff member. I’m fairly certain this is possible, but you could always leave a comment on the Booknetic page on Codecanyon just to confirm with the developers.

  11. Leo Edward

Great compilation! These appointment booking plugins, including GravityBooking, are worth exploring for WordPress users

  12. Bryan

We’ve launched an appointment booking plugin which is a replacement to Calendly. Supports paid bookings through PayPal and Stripe. Hope this could be helpful to the list.

    • AJ Clarke

You forgot to mention the name of your booking plugin! I visited your website though and I see you have one called “Calboy Appointment Booking” (smmooth.com) for anyone looking for more solutions, this one appears to be pretty nice. It is a premium only product without any free version, however, they currently offer a “Try Before You Buy” feature. So you may want to go check it out.
