Premium WordPress Plugins of the Month: December 2016

Are you looking for some exciting new functionalities for your WordPress website? Functionalities that won’t cost you a small fortune? Then welcome to the December edition of WPExplorer’s Premium WordPress Plugins of the Month series. Today, we bring you five brand new plugins released at the tail-end of 2016.

As ever, we’ll be sticking with our usual two rules: affordable plugins – each plugin costs under $40 – and lots of varied functionalities to ensure there is something for all readers. With just shy of 150 new plugins released in December, narrowing the list down to five was no mean feat. Here we go, though, in no particular order…

Page Builder Sandwich

Let’s kick things off with a plugin you might already have heard of: the Page Builder Sandwich plugin. This one is actually about to celebrate its first birthday but has been newly released on CodeCanyon.

The Page Builder Sandwich has impressed plenty of WordPress users with its streamlined approach to building custom layouts. Lots of page builder plugins employ bulky configuration screens which overload users with options. With Page Builder Sandwich, the developers have ensured that each module can be added in as few clicks as possible – it’s as intuitive and natural as it gets.

Talking of modules, the plugin boasts an impressive selection, with new ones promised every month. To date, modules include:

  • Parallax backgrounds
  • Milestones
  • Image carousels
  • Pricing tables
  • Opt-in forms
  • Tables
  • Google Maps
  • Testimonials

It[s certainly an impressive collection, with lots of advanced modules already supported. You can also integrate Page Builder Sandwich with widgets from your other plugins, too. This means that, theoretically, you can add anything to your custom designs, which you can watch spring to life using the plugin’s exceptional front-end builder feature.

If all of this wasn’t enough, Page Builder Sandwich also offers over 40 stunning pre-built templates, 1,700 vector icons, and lots of gorgeous animation effects.

The Page Builder Sandwich really could give Visual Composer a run for its money as the best page builder plugin on CodeCanyon. And, if you act quickly, you can enjoy 20% of the standard price to celebrate the CodeCanyon launch. You can also take the plugin for a test drive with the free Lite version.

Hybrid Gallery

If you want to add stunning image galleries to your WordPress website, look no further than the Hybrid Gallery plugin. It comes absolutely loaded with customization options, giving you an almost unparalleled opportunity to create a truly unique image gallery. Here’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the customization options available to you:

  • Eight layouts – including grid, masonry, slider, and carousel
  • Seven lightbox styles
  • Four pagination types
  • 10 pre-loaders
  • 50 stunning animations
  • Infinite colors
  • Images and video

The plugin also ships with easy-edit shortcodes. The shortcodes will give you a simple overview of your gallery so far – the type of gallery, style, and images used. You can then click on it to make changes as you please. It’s incredibly intuitive to use and makes life so much easier as you construct and edit galleries. If you’ve built a gallery layout that you really like, you can also save it as a template so that you can re-use it again and again in future.

Most importantly, though, Hybrid Gallery will serve stunning galleries to all visitors. The plugin is fully responsive, cross-browser compatible, and, for visitors looking for super-crisp images, retina ready.

Moana – Contact Form 7 Builder with Visual Composer

Contact Form 7 is the most popular free contact form plugin for WordPress. However, there’s one little niggle that always irritates me when using it: the lack of a visual editor. Instead, you have to construct your contact form using shortcodes and HTML tags, which gets slightly tiresome.

If this problem frustrates you, too, the Moana plugin is the solution you’ve been looking for. Moana lets you integrate the page builder functionality from your Visual Composer plugin with the Contact Form 7 editor.

With both plugins installed – note: you will need to have purchased Visual Composer and downloaded the free Contact Form 7 plugins to use Moana – when you access the Contact Form 7 editor, you will be able to click the Visual Composer button to build your forms in real-time. This will look something like this:

The plugin is a real time saver that helps you to get the most out of Contact Form 7.

Content Egg

Content Egg is packed full of useful functionalities for affiliate marketers and comparison websites. The plugin is compatible with several of the world’s most popular eCommerce stores – including Amazon (and all of its region-specific stores), eBay, and AliExpress.

The plugin ships with 30 powerful modules, making it an excellent choice for aspiring affiliate marketers. Start by searching for products to promote from within the Content Egg interface, with the plugin pulling results from over 20 affiliate systems. You can then choose which style of promotion you want to use, with a choice of product boxes, lists, and grids. You can even display products side by side to create useful comparisons for your visitors, and visitors can request notifications should a product’s price fall.

Best of all, Content Egg will automate much of the affiliate marketing process. For example, it will auto-attach your partner IDs to links, so you’ll never miss an affiliate commission again. The plugin also uses a multi-location tracking to redirect users to their local store – for example; UK visitors are sent to Amazon UK.

Advanced Business Hours

The Advanced Business Hours plugin shows visitors when your store is open by displaying a stylish widget. It offers loads of powerful features, making it one of the best opening times plugins in the WordPress world.

For starters, the widgets look beautiful. You can select a custom color scheme, upload a custom background or icon, and edit all of the widget’s text. This lets you design something fully in keeping with the rest of your site.

You can then start configuring your opening hours. The plugin gives you complete flexibility for this task, even letting you select multiple times on any given day. Advanced Business Hours also lets you select a stylish badge to show whether you’re currently open or closed. The plugin can even display an animated clock counting down to your next store open or close time.

Overall, a nice little plugin that’s really easy to use, stylish, and adds an important function to your site.
