WooThemes - WordPress themes for everyone

There are many awesome sites out there that sell Premium Wordpress Themes (I just wrote a post on Free vs. Premium Wordpress Themes if you wish to check it out), one of these sites is called WooThemes. WooThemes is currently run by Adii, Magnus, and Mark and they have developed and are currently selling over 50 Premium themes on their site.

Although I have not personally bought any of the themes myself, I have done a lot of customization on WooThemes for clients as well as I have experimented with all of their free themes.

In the following WooThemes review I wish to cover some of the main areas that allows them to excel as premium wordpress theme developers. In my opinion the main qualities of any Premium Wordpress Theme are: Design, Ease of Customization, Support, and of course Price.

WooThemes Review

Design

Looking at any WooTheme you can not help but notice how amazingly designed these themes are. Not are WooThemes visually stimulating, but they are designed to provide great user interaction and keep up to modern web design trends.

The Royalle theme is a great example of how beautiful and well designed their themes are, check it out below:

Along with design, you must also note that WooThemes provides many different premium themes to match  your needs.  Visiting their site you can see the many different categories they cater for: Magazine/News, Personal Blog, Portfolio, CMS, Business, Multimedia and Free!

Ease  of Customization

With every theme I have worked with I have found that customizing them has been really easy. WooThemes does a great job at keeping the CSS and PHP files nicely coded so they are easy to follow.

Some WooThemes also provide theme admin panels (“options tab) that allow you to customize certain aspects of the theme within your WP control panel, without needing any web design/coding skills.

Some of the things you can change with the options tab are:

  • Change your logo
  • Add a feedburner
  • Include twitter and flickr updates
  • Insert your Google Analytics code
  • And more

Support

I consider support to be a very important factor in Premium Wordpress Themes because many people looking to purchase these themes may not know anything about web design/programming or will want to customize their theme to make it look how they want. Thus, they will need/want enough documentation and support to accomplish their goals. And since the themes are not free, than most people will consider support to be something that must come included.

Woothemes does a great job at providing necessary support. Every theme comes with documentation and they provide some videos exampling the options panel. But where they really excel is in the support forums. You can ask any questions in the support forum and there is already many ‘resolved issues” you can browse through as well and see if they help.

Price

WooThemes prices are very competitive. They offer their packages at similar prices to those of their competitors and sometimes even cheaper. Currently (date of this article was posted) the developer package starts at only $150 which is a really sweet deal. I have seen other premium themes that sell for over $300 for the developer package.

One thing you will notice is that when you purchase a WhooTheme, you can use it on an unlimited amount of  domains. This is something you won’t find in a lot of other premium themes.
