This plugin makes it easy for restaurant managers, owners, chefs, or anyone else to add menus to the restaurant website. With WPMenuMakerLite you can create custom menus, categories, and items. You can also add images to each menu item. If you have online ordering enabled, there is a “Special Instructions” section and quantity ability build right into each menu item you add which is user friendly and ensures better customer service.

The plugin comes with two menu layouts. The tabbed layout creates menu tabs that users can click through. This option also lets you set a slide, fade, or scale transition between menu tabs. The other layout is a vertical menu that displays all of your menu categories and items on a single page that customers can scroll through. Both are great options that could be used in any restaurant WordPress theme. Plus on the backend you can drag and drop your menu features to easily customize your menu layout.

We love that WPMenuMakerLite is very useful for the restaurant WordPress theme niche market. There’s not a lot of menu plugins available, and this is a great one. Plus we really like that the plugin is user friendly on the front end and the back-end (can’t beat drag and drop functionality!).

Restaurant Menu Plugin – What Could Be Improved:

It would be great if there were more styling options included so that the plugin would be easier to match to a WordPress theme . If you’re a developer I’m sure the styling is easy to fix, but more color or layout options still would’ve been nice. Another piece of content that we would’ve liked to have seen is an ingredients or allergen section. Since customers always have questions about what’s in  menu items we feel this would be a great addition to the plugin.
