Modularity Lite WordPress Theme

Modularity Lite is a free WordPress Theme developed with multimedia in mind. This them is for those looking to create an image rich site on a minimal yet elegant site.

This theme actually works on the “multimedia theme framework” which is basically a parent theme on which you can install other child themes such as Modularity. Modularity Lite is actually a base theme as there are going to be other child themes released to increase the functionality and design of this theme with a simple upload.

Although this theme is free, it is packed with really great features and it is very premium-like in both its slick design and layout and in the amount of features it offers.

The catch?
The only perk of this theme is that you have to sign up for an account with .com.

Installing & Activating The Theme

1. Download from here

2. Unzip the folder onto your computer

3. Upload the folder to your blog’s theme directory located at “wp-content/themes”

4. Log in and click on the design tab from within your WordPress Admin Panel

5. Select the theme to activate it

Themes Options

This theme comes with a really nice admin control panel where you can change many of the options. From here you can quickly and easily change the following:

• Background colors
• Link Colors
• Contact Info
• Welcome Message
• Tracking Code
• Enable/Disable right sidebar
• Switch columns

Widgets

This theme includes 4 different widgetized areas including the sidebar and 3 columns on the bottom (see the preview).

Custom Fields

This theme allows for several multimedia custom fields including google maps and videos. But you can basically add almost any media by adding the term “multimedia” into a custom field as the key value and than past your html code into the value field.
