Fortunately, the Amazon Associates affiliate program is an easy way to introduce affiliate marketing to your blogging routine. It’s also a low-stress starting point if you’ve only just started trying to create a new revenue stream online.

What Amazon Affiliate Marketing Is (And How It Benefits You)

Amazon Associates

Affiliate marketing is a commission-based referral program. You partner with a company, and earn a small percentage of its profits by referring your visitors to its products or services. If you’re new to affiliate marketing, we recommend starting with a trusted program, such as Amazon.

Becoming an Amazon affiliate is free, and offers over a million products you can choose to feature on your site. Here are some benefits to becoming an Amazon Associate:

  • The program integrates smoothly with WordPress. You can work your affiliate links into your content wherever they make the most sense.
  • It offers multiple linking tools for your site. You have access to banners, buttons, images, and links for to improve your marketing efforts.
  • You can track your earnings any time you want. Along with tracking trends, orders, and referrals, you can watch your profits with daily online reports.

Amazon’s program is perfect for getting started with affiliate marketing, especially when partnered with WordPress. Since WordPress is easy to use and loaded with SEO features, it’s the perfect tool to build an affiliate website and get your marketing efforts off the ground. There are also many plugins available to help you integrate your affiliate links with your WordPress site.

To get started with Amazon’s affiliate program, you first have to join and create your Amazon account. From there, you will need to log in and choose the items you want to feature on your site. Each item has a unique link containing your affiliate ID. After that, you’ll simply add the links to your site!

Hi, I’m dipping my toe into affiliation and wondered whether all of the above support the current integration functionality as Amazon stopped supporting some ways of adding specific products on 31st Jan… Thanks!

    • Kyla

Most of these have been updated in the last 3-4 weeks (with the exception of the “Amazon eStore Affiliate Plugin” and the free “Amazon Link Engine”) so you shouldn’t run into any issues. But to be sure just ask the developer – most are quick to respond and they’ll know for sure if the plugin has been fully updated to work within Amazon’s requirements.

  2. Sushant

    Hi,

Awesome guide on creating Amazon site with plugins. I was thinking of using woocommerce for adding custom amazon products. However the only problem I’m facing right now is that the price of the products are not static and they keep changing.

Any idea if we can use some plugin with woocommerce to update live prices within wordpress.

    Thanks for the help

    • Kyla

Actually, AzonPress has automatic product updates – so it might be the right Amazon-WooCommerce plugin for your site!

  3. Kristi

What level of WordPress membership do you need to be an amazon associate? Would it work with a Premium plan?

    • Kyla

I’m not sure what you mean, as WordPress.org doesn’t require ant membership levels – as the platform itself is free (then you have to choose your own hosting and register your domain).

But, if you’re using WordPress.com they have their own strict rules about e-commerce, and you won’t be allowed to install any of the plugins recommended in this article…

  4. ANUSHA TUKE

Amazon Associates Link Builder is not working anymore. You can take it off the list.

    • Kyla

Thank you for letting us know! We’ll get it replaced on our list soon!

      • Danny

Agreed! You should remove it from your list and add the Chrome Extension AMZ Table Assistant, since it works with most of these.

        • Kyla

I actually already removed and replaced it with a different plugin in our list 🙂 but I’ll have to have a look at the extension you mentioned!

          • Danny

Hey Kyla, thank you! That’d be great if you’d be interested in testing it out/using it. I’d be happy to send you a free product key to try out and/or add to your blog. I’ll send a follow-up email as well with the key.
            -Danny

            • Kyla

Oh no need – I’ll just checkout the Chrome extensions store to see what the add-on is about 🙂 This list is only for WOrdPress plugins, but we have a Chrome Extensions for WordPress list that it might be a good for.
